Lighten Up Newsletter
The Lighten Up newsletter was created out of my desire to write real life stories that motivated and moved people to think about what's important in their own lives. Since September 2003, I've been sharing my musings and providing inspirational resources each month with my readers. No matter what life issue I'm addressing, my intention is the same for each newsletter which is to encourage people to seriously consider the idea of playing more in order to reduce life stress. How do I do that?
I walk my talk in my newsletter. I write real and raw stuff from the heart and that tends to stir people up a bit. I show up month after month with information and insights that are personal, passionate and provocative. I don't make any promises other than you're likely to have a good time reading it and perhaps you'll laugh out loud or shed a tear. It's possible you'll have a better sense about who you are and what you really want when you finish reading the thing.
What can you expect to read in Lighten Up?
- A 500-1000 word article that contains the message and essence of the entire newsletter, the thing that might make you go "Hmmm..."
- Personal Recommendations about fun and interesting books, music and websites
- Ways to Play Today – Two playful suggestions you can try out immediately add more play to your life
- Giggles & Guffaws -An amusing story, joke, picture or video to tickle your funnybone
- What's Up with Playful Spirit – A bit of personal news and announcements about upcoming events, workshops and retreats
- Something to Ponder – Two questions for you to consider and respond back to me if you'd like
Why should you read this newsletter?
First and foremost, it's fun and entertaining. And having a little more laughter and humor in our lives is a good thing. Secondly, the writing is intelligent, down-to-earth and is like having a conversation with a good friend. I write like I speak (minus the uhs and ums) and I do my best each month to create a newsletter that might impact your life in some way.
Last, but certainly not least, I offer articles and resources that will surprise and delight even the most skeptical, pessimistic person. Why not read an issue or two from our archives to get an idea of what you can expect?
How do you subscribe?
It's very easy to do. Simply fill in the form you see below with your name and the email address you'd like the newsletter delivered to and you're on your way to being a Lighten Up reader. There's one small step you'll need to take to confirm that you really want to be a subscriber. After you enter your personal information below and click the submit button, you'll want to look for an email that's generated from the company that helps me manage my newsletter subscriptions. Once you reply to that email, your subscription is confirmed and you can expect your first issue to appear in your inbox on or around the first Monday of every month.
Remind me again what is Lighten Up?
A very bright light bulb? Nope. A make-up foundation designed to put a smile on your face? Not quite. A fun and inspiring monthly newsletter written by Lisa Evans? Yes!
Living life with more passion and play and less worry and work is possible. I hope you'll give me and my newsletter the opportunity to inspire you at the beginning of every month. If you want to read my musings more often, I encourage you to check out my two blogs,
The Ultimate Yes
and
Life of Play.
